V5 Override Referee Tools (“the App”) is designed for robotics match officiating. We take a data-minimal approach: the developer does not collect, store, sell, or share any personal information about you.
What the App stores
On your device: match scores, logged violations, team numbers you type, and your language preference are saved locally on your device so the App works offline. This data never leaves your device unless you use Competition Mode.
In Competition Mode (optional): if an organiser sets up an online competition, the offences and competition details you enter are sent to a Google Spreadsheet that the organiser owns and controls, through a script the organiser deploys. This data is not sent to the developer. It typically contains competition names, field and match numbers, robot/team numbers, rule codes, severity, optional notes, and the name a judge enters.
What we do NOT do
No analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies.
No collection of names, emails, contacts, location, or device identifiers by the developer.
No accounts and no sign-in with the developer.
Data controlled by the competition organiser
In Competition Mode, the organiser (the “admin” who created the competition) is the party responsible for the spreadsheet and its contents, including retention and deletion. Passwords used to join a competition are set by the organiser and are used only to authorise access to that competition’s spreadsheet.
Children
The App is a tool for event officials. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
